  • Place felt pads under all furniture.
  • When moving furniture, try to lift objects rather than pushing or pulling over the floor surface.
  • Timber floors will darken with exposure to light. Move rugs/furniture occasionally to avoid patches of different colour. All flooring will fade when exposed to direct sunlight.
  • All floors will move with the changes in season, this is normal.
  • Regular vacuuming or sweeping with a soft broom is the easiest way to keep your floor looking beautiful. Please ensure vacuum head has no protruding sharp edges.
  • Never wet or saturate a timber floor directly. Use a well wrung out mop head and an approved timber floor cleaner.
  • Stiletto or high heels shoes will damage your floors.
  • Place mat at all exterior doorways, inside and out. It is also advised to place mats near sinks and stoves.
  • Be aware that dirt and sand are abrasive and can be harmful to your floors. Remove dirt and spills promptly.
  • Try to keep all blinds and curtains closed during especially hot days (Handy hint! Tinted windows can help prevent damage from the sun's powerful rays).
  • Maintain suitable temperature and humidity levels all year round in your home. The use of a dehumidifier and humidifier are advised to prevent high/low levels of humidity.
  • Identify any loose appliance fittings or water leaks. These can be potential hazards to the life of your flooring.
  • Ensure your new flooring is covered in your home insurance under accidental damage (accidents do happen).
